March.9th - 13th

Looking Back:

On Thursday we celebrated the 100th day of school! We did many activities throughout the day and even got to visit the other grade 1 teachers in the morning. It was a great day!

In UFLI we learned about the sounds ‘ng’ and ‘nk’ and practiced some new heart words: for, or, where, there. We brought home the sentence game and a Roll & Read to practice with you!

In Social Studies we talked about what culture means and how people show it. We learned that culture is how a group of people live and includes what they wear, eat, believe, celebrate, speak, and create.

We read a story “How to Catch a Leprechaun” and thought it would be fun to try and catch our own leprechauns in our classroom. We planned out our trap and made a list of the things we would need from home. We started building on Friday and will continue to build on Monday. You are more than welcome to go and get some things from the dollar store but it is not at all necessary. We have basic tools here such as popsicle sticks, coloured paper and paint.

Looking Ahead:

Please Note: There will be no book exchange next week due to the book fair. You are welcome to keep your library book over Spring Break.
