April. 20th - 24th Looking Back: In UFLI we learned a new rule with the letter G. We learned that the letter G can spell /j/ when it is followed by a silent E, such as the word cage. We also reviewed words with the silent E pattern and talked about words that are exceptions to this rule. The first exception to the silent E pattern is words that end with VE, where the vowel makes the short sound. We practiced the words give, live & have. The second exception to the silent E pattern is when there is an O that sounds like a short U. We practiced words like some, come, love, done, & none. There is one new decodable passage and a Roll & Read game for you to practice at home! On Tuesday we celebrated Earth Day! We read stories, watched videos, and discussed some different ways that we can help take care of the Earth.
